The West Indian American Day Carnival is the largest Caribbean cultural event in North America. On Labor Day (the first Monday of September), Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn transforms into a 4 km procession of steel bands, elaborate masquerade costumes and sound systems representing the Caribbean diaspora in all its breadth: Trinidad, Barbados, Haiti, Jamaica and beyond.

The oldest and largest Italian-American festival in the United States. Since 1926, Mulberry Street in Little Italy has been transformed each September into a kilometre-long outdoor dining room lined with vendors selling zeppole, cannoli, sausage and peppers. The 2026 edition is the centennial. One hundred consecutive years on the same street.

The Global Citizen Festival takes over the Great Lawn of Central Park for a free concert headlined by major artists. Past editions have featured Beyoncé, Coldplay, Rihanna and Ed Sheeran. Tickets are earned, not purchased: you complete actions (petitions, campaigns, pledges) through the Global Citizen app and redeem points for access. VIP options are available for purchase.
The Great Lawn holds 60,000 people. With the Manhattan skyline as backdrop, it is one of the most spectacular free concert experiences in the world.
Village Halloween Parade: The World's Most Creative Night
Every October 31st, Greenwich Village hosts what is widely considered the world's largest and most creative Halloween parade. More than 50,000 costumed participants (not spectators: participants) march up Sixth Avenue from Spring Street to 16th Street, watched by up to 2 million people lining the route.
