Tips for attending an F1 race for the first time
- ✅ Buy tickets directly from the official circuit: the safest source and often the cheapest. Formula1.com links to official ticket partners for every round.
- ✅ Book accommodation alongside tickets: hotels near F1 circuits sell out fast and prices surge on race weekends.
- ✅ General admission vs grandstand: grandstand seats give you a fixed, covered position and a guaranteed view. General admission is cheaper but requires arriving early to find a good spot.
- ✅ Bring ear protection: F1 cars at race speed are very loud. Foam earplugs or proper ear defenders are worth packing.
- ✅ Attend Friday practice: crowds are smaller, tickets are cheaper, and you get the same track-side experience.
For fall 2026 F1 races, Booking.com's Late Escape deal offers -15% or more on stays from October through early January — worth checking once you have confirmed race dates.
