MSG Sphere opened in Las Vegas in September 2023. It is the largest spherical structure ever built, with an exterior LED screen visible from the Las Vegas Strip and an interior that seats up to 17,600 people under a 160,000 square foot immersive display.
It is not a conventional arena. Every residency is built specifically for the space, with visuals, sound and haptic technology designed to work together. The 2026 calendar is worth knowing before you plan a Las Vegas trip.
What the Sphere is
The Sphere (officially MSG Sphere Las Vegas) is a purpose-built immersive entertainment venue located next to the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip. It cost approximately $2.3 billion to build and opened with U2's Achtung Baby residency in September 2023.

Residencies and events in 2026
The Sphere programs residencies on a rolling announcement basis. In 2024 and 2025, the venue hosted Dead & Company, Phish, Eagles, and a film experience called "Postcards from Earth" by Darren Aronofsky.

Because the Sphere programmes on a rolling basis, any specific artist or event listed months in advance should be verified directly at the official site before booking travel. New acts are announced regularly.
How to get tickets

- 💰 Price range: tickets typically run from $100 for upper sections to $400 or more for floor and premium seating, depending on the artist and night.
- 📱 Presales: sign up for MSG newsletters or the specific artist's mailing list to access presale windows before general on-sale.
- ⏱️ Sell fast: popular residencies sell out within hours of going on sale. Set an alarm for the on-sale time.
- 🚫 Resale: secondary market prices for sold-out Sphere shows can be very high. SeatGeek and StubHub both list resale inventory but expect significant markup.

- ✅ For multi-night residencies, midweek shows often have better availability than weekend nights

What the experience is like
The interior screen is the defining feature. It covers the full ceiling and wraps around behind the stage, making the venue feel like you are inside the image rather than watching it. At full resolution the visuals are photorealistic : reviewers consistently describe the experience as unlike any arena show.
- 🎧 Sound: the system delivers clean, loud, spatially accurate sound across all sections. Reviews consistently rate the audio as excellent even from upper levels.
- 📳 Haptic feedback: during Phish and Dead & Company residencies, haptic rumble was used to simulate physical bass response synchronized to the music.
- 🍺 Food and drink: standard arena concessions plus multiple bar areas. Drinks are expensive, as with all Vegas venues.
- 🚫 Photography: the Sphere allows phones and cameras during most events. Check the specific event policy.
Planning your visit
- ✅ Stay on the Strip: the Sphere is a 5-10 minute walk from most major Strip hotels. No transport is needed if you stay nearby.
- ✅ Arrive 30 minutes early: security lines can build up, and the interior is worth exploring before the show starts.
- ✅ Combine with a Las Vegas stay: given the cost and logistics, most people attend a Sphere show as part of a 2-4 night Vegas trip rather than flying in specifically for one show.
